The month of May is packed with truck shows and competitions
Apr 29, 2018 in Trucking EventsAs we all know, the trucking industry never gets a rest, and this year will not be any different. Several state trucking championships and many truck shows are scheduled to take place next month. It appears that the trucking industry is looking at a very busy month with a very tightly packed May calendar.
The show month opens with the Midwest Pride In Your Ride Truck and Tractor Show at the Tri-State Raceway in Earlville, Iowa. The snow will take place on 4th and 5th of May and the admission will cost 10$ per day. Of course, there is free admission for children under 12. Every attendee who is cancer survivor will receive a free purple survivor shirt. The Midwest Pride In Your Ride Truck and Tractor Show will feature a truck pull, a light show, a children’s tractor pull, live auction and the crowd’s favorite – the truck drag racing. The vendors will be set up throughout the whole show, which starts at 8 a.m. both Friday and Saturday.
At the same time, two more shows and one championship will entertain every trucking fan. The Virginia Truck Driving Championships in Chester, Virginia and the American Truck Historical Society (ATHS) Southern California Chapter Truck Show and Swap Meet at Orange Empire Railway Museum in Perris, California also take place from 4th of May to 5th and 6th of May respectively. The Fitzgerald Peterbilt Semi-Casual Truck Show at Bristol Dragway in Bristol, Tennessee also takes place 4-5th of May. The first day is set up day for truck show participants and vendors only, while Saturday will be open to the public and packed full of events – semi truck drag races, Jesse Toler & Rowdy Rodney Stunt Show, a concert by FOGHAT, many great vendors and delicious food.
On 5th and 6th of May trucking fans can enjoy the Idaho Truck Driving Championships in Meridian, Idaho and the ATHS Mason Dixon Chapter Annual Antique Truck Show Gladhill Tractor Mart Inc. in Frederick, Maryland.
The annual Georgia Truck Driving Championships will take place in Lake Lanier Islands, Georgia on from 10th to 12th of May. The competition hosts 160 plus professional drivers and over 450 friends, families and co-workers. Also in Georgia, but this time in Atlanta, people can enjoy the National Minority Trucking Association Top Expo Conference at Cobb Galleria Center. If you are nowhere near Georgia, but you live in or near Rhode Island, on 12th of May you can visit the Rhode Island Truck Driving Championships in Pawtucket. There are several shows on this day - ATHS 3 Trails Chapter Truck Show at Connie Museum in Kansas City, Missouri, ATHS Palmetto Upstate Chapter Spring Truck Show at Oneal Church of God in Greer, South Carolina and ATHS Piedmont Carolina Lester Brown Memorial Antique Truck Show at North Carolina Transportation Museum in Spencer, North Carolina.
The Alaska Truck Driving Championships in Anchorage, Alaska will entertain the visitors throughout 18-19 May. There will be a huge chili cook off, so prepare accordingly. At the same time there are the North Carolina Truck Driving Championships in Charlotte, North Carolina, the Ohio Truck Driving Championships in Sandusky, Ohio, the Wisconsin Truck Driving Championships in Appleton, Wisconsin and the Kentucky Truck Driving Championships in Sparta, Kentucky.
The month ends with the American Truck Historical Society National Convention and Truck Show at Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, Kentucky May 31 to June 2.
And these are just the tip of the iceberg, there are also the California Truck Driving Championships in West Sacramento, California on 20th of May, the Springtime Truck and Tractor Show at 87 Pleasant Street in Passadumkeag, Maine on 26th of May and many more! So get ready for a busy month!
